Information-share meeting focusing on the local perspective in implementation of the Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities will be held in hotel “Bosna” in Banja Luka on February 27, 2013, starting at 11:00 hours. This will be an opportunity for local stake holders to share information on implementation process but also on challenges and progress made in this area. Similar meetings have already been held in 7 regions throughout the country. Information-share meeting is one of the activities implemented by Landmine Survivors Initiatives in partnership with Association „BOSPO“ and cooperation with B&H Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees, within the project „Support to the Work of the Mechanism for Protection and Promotion of Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities“ financed by the European Union through the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR)- Country Based Support Scheme 2010.

Sixth meeting of the B&H Council for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) was held on December 13,2012 in hotel “Bosna” in Banja Luka. Members of the Council defined advocacy actions/initiatives to be implemented within the recommendations of the Working Group of the Council that focused on the issues of accessibility and prosthetic/orthotic devices. Composition of the Working Group responsible for development of the first report on the work of the Council was agreed as well as the composition of the Working Group involved in development of the 2013 Operational Plan focusing on different priority areas for promotion and protection of human rights of PWDs.  

First Referral meeting focused on introduction of the local priorities and challenges in disability from seven regions of BiH was held on December 12, 2012 in the facilities of Parliamentary Assembly of BiH. Meeting participants included representatives of the organizations of persons with disabilities (PWDs), as well as the representatives of Ministries/institutions from different level of Government of BiH.
