UNDP and "Landmine Survivors Initiatives” have organized a central event for 4^th April, International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event was held in the UN House in Sarajevo with the presence of embassies, EUFOR, state ministries, BHMAC, international organizations, NGOs and survivors. It was an opportunity to summarize the "Lend your leg" campaign, to introduce victims and survivors who promoted the campaign and share expectations regarding resolution of mine presence related issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On the occasion of marking the ratification of the UN Convention on rights of persons with disabilities in BiH (April 11^th), Landmine Survivors Initiatives and BOSPO, in close cooperation with Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees, organized press conference in hotel “Sarajevo” in Sarajevo. As part of the wider awareness raising campaign “Equality. Non-discrimination. Rights for All”, initial Report on the implementation of the Convention in BiH was introduced and the work of the BiH Council of persons with disabilities, advisory body of the BiH Council of Ministers, in charge for the promotion and protection of rights of persons with disabilities was promoted.

Press conference and the campaign are part of the project activities “Support to the mechanism for promotion and protection of human rights of persons with disabilities” financed by the European Union within the program “European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights-Country-based support scheme for 2010”.

Osmi sastanak Vijeća za osobe sa invaliditetom Bosne i Hercegovine (Vijeće) održan je 09.04.2013.godine u hotelu „Park“ u Doboju. Na sastanku su definirani prijedlozi Vijeća vezani za uskladjivanje postojećeg zakonodavstva koje reguliše oblast pristupačnosti za osobe sa invaliditetom (OSI) te učešće Vijeća u nadgledanju primjene strateških dokumenata u oblasti invalidnosti u BiH.

Podrška za održavanje sastanaka Vijeća omogućena je kroz projekat “Podrška mehanizmu zaštite i promocije ljudskih prava osoba sa invaliditetom“, finansiranom iz sredstava programa Evropske Unije „Evropski instrument za demokraciju i ljudska prava (EIDHR)–Program podrške za 2010. godinu“, kojeg implementira Udruženje „Inicijative preživjelih od mina“ iz Tuzle u partnerstvu sa Udruženjem „BOSPO“ iz Tuzle, i saradnju sa Ministarstvom za ljudska prava i izbjeglice Bosne i Hercegovine.
