Information-share meeting in Gorazde

Information share meeting focusing on the on the implementation of the Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities from local prospective, was organized on September 12, 2012 starting at 10:00 hours in Hotel „Behar“ in Gorazde. Meeting participants included representatives of local organizations of persons with disabilities as well as the representatives of cantonal and municipal authorities, including Mayor of Gorazde, Mr. Muhamed Ramovic  Positive experiences of support for the projects of reintegration and resocialization of persons with disabilities from the local authorities was emphasized but participants also identified areas that need to be improved especially in building the capacities, networking and advocacy initiatives of the organizations of persons with disabilities.

Call for public discussion on the draft text of the Initial Report of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the Implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

Bosnia and Herzegovina ratified the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its Optional Protocol on March 12, 2010 (without reservations or statements). The Convention entered into force on April 11, 2010, on the thirtieth day after the deposit of the instrument of ratification for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Although deadline for the Bosnia and Herzegovina’s initial report on the implementation of the Convention is April 11, 2012, two years after the ratification, it is prolonged until the end of 2012. In order to fulfill this international obligation, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, opens, at its web portal, the Call for public discussion on the proposal of text of the Initial Report of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the Implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

We call upon all institutions from all levels in Bosnia and Herzegovina to share their opinions, remarks, suggestions and recommendations to the text proposal, through electronic mail to following mail addresses This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Eight Regional Art Colony "Art Beyond Borders and Barriers"

Non-governmental organization “Landmine Survivors Initiatives”, in partnership with the Organization of Amputees “UDAS” of Republika Srpska, and hosted and supported by the City of Bijeljina, organized the 8th Regional Art Colony “Arts beyond barriers and borders” in Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from August 27-31, 2012. In total, 13 artists with and without disabilities from Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina participated to this years’ colony and created some 60 artworks at beautiful locations in and around Bijeljina, which will be exhibited in Art Gallery in Bijeljina from August 31 – September 14, 2012.
