Public call for scholarship covering one semester of high school, university or post graduate studies

Non-profit organization ITF Enhacing Human Security invites all interested high school, university or post graduate students in Bosnia and Herzegovina to apply for short term scholarship covering one semestar of studying. Eligible applicants are landmine survivors and/or members of their families enrolled in the studying program. All applicants should have transactional bank account.

Application information should include:

1. Name and surname, age and sex of the applicant
2. Address and phone number
3. E-mail address
4. Short biography with the brief information on mine incident
5. Explanation on how the stipend will assist the applicant
6. Proof on the enrollement in studying program
7. Evidence on the landmine injury
8. One photo of the applicant

All interested applicants should send their application forms, no later than December 7. 2012, at the following address: ITF Enhacing Human Security, Zabrv 12, 1292 Ig, Slovenia in a sealed envelope with the following text: "Application for schoalrship".

The selected candidates will receive information on the status of their application no later than December 14, 2012.

 

Meeting of a thematic group of the Council for Persons with Disabilities

Thematic group of the Council for Persons with Disabilities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in charge of analyzing existing legislative frameworks on the rights of persons with disabilities to accessibility and issues of public procurement, with special focus on orthopedic devices, will be held on 23 October 2012, at 11:00, in hotel “Vidovic” in Banja Luka. Recommendations from this thematic group aiming at improving legislation in aforementioned areas, will be used as useful tools for the Council in advocating towards releveant government institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Meeting of thematic group is one of the activities implemented through the project “Support to the mechanism for protection and promotion of human rights of persons with disabilities” financed by the European Union program “European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR)- Program of Support for 2010”, implemented by the Non-governmental organization “Landmine Survivors Initiatives” in partnership with Association “BOSPO” from Tuzla and close collaboration with B&H Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees.

15th International sitting volleyball tournament ”Princess Diana Memorial 2012”

Non-governmental organization “Landmine Survivors Initiatives” organized 15th International Sitting Volleyball Tournament “Princess Diana Memorial 2012”, held on 13thOctober 2012, at the City Hall “Arena” in Zenica. Eight sitting volleyball clubs with some 100 athletes, including landmine victims, war veterans and persons with disabilities, from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia participated to the tournament. Tournament was initiated in 1998, remembering the visit of Princess Diana to Bosnia and Herzegovina and her contribution in protection and promotion of rights of landmine victims throughout the world. This year, tournament was held in Zenica, where Princess Diana met with landmine victims in her last humanitarian mission in 1997. In a final match, hosting team from Zenica won with 2:0 over OKI “Breza” from Breza, whilst third place went to OKI “Brcko” from Brcko District who won 2:1 over OKI “Doboj” from Doboj. Teams IOK „15. maj“ from Tuzla, KSO „Smec“ from Belgrade, OKI „Derventa“ from Derventa, and OKI „Panda“ from Velika Kladusa also participated to this tournament. Fair play award was handed over to sitting volleyball club KSO “Smec” from Belgrade.
