Non-governmental organization “Landmine Survivors Initiatives” organized retrospective exhibition of artworks created at the Regional Art Colony “Arts beyond Barriers and Borders” 2005-2012. The exhibition was opened on December 7, 2012, and will be open until December 21, 2012, at the Gallery of the Cultural and Sports Center in Bugojno. Huge number of guests participated to the opening ceremony, including among other, representatives of government institutions, including mayor of Bugojno municipality, Mr. Hasan Ajkunic, non-governmental and organizations of persons with disabilities, artists and other guests, including several musical performances by the vocal ensemble from Bugojno. Main objective of the exhibition “Arts beyond Barriers and Borders” is to contribute to breaking down prejudices and raising awareness of general public on situation, creative potential and rights of persons with disabilities in BiH, and promotion of equal opportunities and full inclusion of this marginalized group of our citizens into communities and society in general. The art exhibition is one of the activities to mark 20th Anniversary of work and existence of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (the ICBL), which LSI is member since 1997. The art exhibition is organized thanks to, first of, financial support of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in BiH, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, and the International Campaign to Ban Landmines/Coalition for Cluster Munitions. The activities were implemented in cooperation with the Organization of Amputees “UDAS” of Republika Srpska and the Gallery of the Cultural and Sports Center in Bugojno.
